Television actor Rohit Chandel, known for appearing in popular Hindi TV shows, has been arrested by the Mumbai Police after a complaint was filed by a 16-year-old girl. The case involves serious allegations, including stalking, harassment, and physical assault. The development has surprised many of the actor’s fans, while the investigation is still underway.

According to media reports, the 29-year-old actor was taken into custody on July 10 from his residence in Mumbai. Police later produced him before a Special POCSO Court, which remanded him to police custody for further investigation. Authorities have registered the case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, along with relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) related to stalking and causing hurt.

The complaint was filed by a minor girl living in Mumbai’s eastern suburbs. She alleged that Chandel repeatedly contacted her using his own phone number as well as other numbers, despite her unwillingness to communicate. The complaint further claims that these repeated calls caused her distress.

The girl also alleged that on July 5, the actor confronted her near her residential building. According to the complaint, he allegedly followed her, argued with her, verbally abused her, and physically assaulted her during the incident. Police officials have stated that both the complainant and the accused were known to each other before the complaint was lodged.

A police officer confirmed that a case was registered immediately after the complaint was received and that the accused was arrested as part of the ongoing investigation. So far, neither Rohit Chandel nor his representatives have issued any public statement regarding the allegations.

Rohit Chandel has appeared in television shows such as Pandya Store and Kashibai Bajirao Ballal, which helped him gain recognition among TV audiences. He is also currently associated with the television show Sairab as the lead actor.

Following the actor’s arrest, discussions have started on social media about the future of the show. Some viewers believe the production team may consider replacing him if the legal proceedings continue, although there has been no official announcement from the makers.
