Along with his sisters, Shreeja Shandilya and Shrestha Shandilya, he was immersed in and influenced by a deep culture, developing a sensitivity towards his own art. Shreyash started his school education at Saint Joseph’s School, Banka, but had to stop his studies halfway through the 10th grade, experiencing personal hardship. In 2011, he decided to leave for Mumbai.

To pursue professional training, Shreyash studied at the Ajivasan Music Academy, founded by Padma Shri Suresh Wadkar, where he received formal grounding in vocal and performance techniques. He later completed a Diploma in Music Production & Audio Engineering from SAE Institute, Australia, and earned Music Theory certification from Trinity College London. His artistic direction was significantly shaped under the mentorship of Ustad Mehboob Khan, a renowned sitar maestro, who introduced him to the philosophy of precision and emotional depth in sound. Shreyash often recalls that his guru taught him “how to place every sur with accuracy so that a note does not merely sound right, but becomes felt.”

Throughout his career, Shreyash has developed an extensive body of work as a composer, lyricist, singer, and producer. His recognized songs include “Tujhse Milke Ye Baawra” (featuring Krishna Beura and Anweshaa), “Sholon Se Bhara” (with Suraj Jagan), “Hey Ram” (ft. Shweta Pandit), “Maa”, “Kyun Barse Naina”, “Pratham Kare” (sung by Padma Shri Anup Jalota), “Enlightenment”, “Namaskaratha Mantra”, and “Ragoon”. In a notable collaboration, Indian Idol fame Rishi Singh worked with Shreyash on a special musical project dedicated to cricketer Virat Kohli, in which Shreyash contributed as the Project Creative Supervisor—an example of his growing engagement in mainstream collaborative spaces within independent music.
