True Hope Foundation has announced the launch of 100K HopeShield India, a large-scale humanitarian campaign focused on constructing one lakh emergency shelters for families affected by climate disasters and sudden displacement across India.

The initiative has been introduced at a time when rising temperatures, urban fires, floods, and unpredictable weather conditions are increasingly impacting low-income communities living in vulnerable regions. Through this mission, the organization aims to create a fast and scalable shelter response system capable of assisting people during emergency situations while also improving long-term resilience.

The campaign gained momentum after the foundation’s recent relief work in Vikas Nagar, Lucknow, where severe fires destroyed homes belonging to hundreds of families. In the aftermath of the incident, the NGO deployed nearly 1,000 temporary heat-resistant shelters to provide immediate protection to displaced residents facing extreme summer temperatures.

Foundation representatives stated that the shelters are designed to offer more than temporary accommodation. The structures are intended to provide safety, privacy, and dignity to people who suddenly lose their homes due to disasters. Many of the beneficiaries included migrant labourers, daily wage workers, women-led families, elderly citizens, and children.

Under the 100K HopeShield India program, the organization plans to expand operations into disaster-prone rural and urban regions, particularly areas regularly affected by floods, fires, and heatwaves. The campaign reflects a growing humanitarian focus on climate-adaptive relief infrastructure rather than relying solely on short-term emergency aid.

In addition to shelter assistance, True Hope Foundation has also continued its healthcare support initiatives. The NGO reported facilitating hundreds of medical aid campaigns over the past year, including support for children requiring critical surgeries, cancer patients undergoing treatment, senior citizens needing long-term care, and accident victims requiring urgent medical attention.

Observers say the initiative highlights the increasing importance of community-led humanitarian programs that combine emergency response, climate resilience, and social support. By integrating rapid shelter deployment with broader relief efforts, True Hope Foundation aims to strengthen support systems for vulnerable communities facing both environmental and economic challenges across India.

Jodhpur-based True Hope Foundation was conferred with the prestigious ‘Rashtrya Ratn Award’ at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The honor was presented by Kangana Ranaut, recognizing the foundation’s impact on grassroots social welfare and disaster management.
